Prognosis Triple pelvic osteotomy (TPO) has a very high overall success rate. A TPO study was conducted using 122 dogs that had hip dysplasia and 16 dogs that had experienced trauma. The success rate of this study was 86% with 47% success in dogs between the ages of 6-12 months. Following this surgical procedure, there is no evidence of subluxation in the coxofemoral joint and there is minimal progression of the degenerative process as well as osteoarthritis. TPO restores the normal gait and activity level, and eliminates pain in household pets.
