Hypothesis 2: Infectious	

The calf  could have developed an infection in its joints or legs due to trauma from other 
cows or improper bandaging techniques while trying to repair a fractured leg.  There is a 
draining tract with purulent exudate coming from the wounds on the legs is indicative of 
an infection.  There is crepitance within the leg which can be a symptom with 
osteoarthritis.  If the leg was bandaged improperly this could lead to an infection.  The 
wounds on the legs could also introduce an infection that could spread hematogenously to 
the joints.
