The Public Safety Department includes such staples and police and fire, but with the unique environment of Mars, there are other concerns as well. These include but are not limited to airtight integrety of pressurized areas of the city as well as potential hazards unique to lava tube caves, the planet Mars and space exploration in general. This department is overseen by a Chief of Public Safety who's role could be described as a combination of a terrestrial Police and Fire Chief. The Chief reports to the City Manager.
