Plan of action Additional tests 1. Based on the physical exam, and movement tests during the exam, the lameness has been localized to the hip joint 2. CBC (anemia, leukocytosis, thrombocytopenia, hypoproteimia, neutrophilia), Lyme titer test Ð to rule out infection including Borrelia infection 3. Radiographs Ð hips for joint problems, chest and abdominal radiographs for signs of inflammation/infection 4. Synovial fluid analysis Ð to differentiate between traumatic and septic processes 5. MRI Ð may be more sensitive than radiography if radiographs are inconclusive 6. Bone scintigraphy Ð indicates bone growth, active bone damage, or fracture healing
