Plan of action Radiographs: On the radiographs we will look at the original fracture to evaluate healing status. We will also look for evidence of bone infection (the presence of lysis or sclerosis on the bone or the joint), growth plate damage(disturbance of even growth), as well as soft tissue damage (increased radiopacity around bone). Blood work: The purpose of the blood work is to evaluate the presence of systemic infection from the infection on the leg. If systemic infection is present, we will see a ruminant established inflammatory leukogram. If we do find that there is osteomyelitis, it may be beneficial to take a biopsy of bone and do a culture and sensitivity test in order to determine antibacterial therapy.
