Interpretation of specialty exams CBC - a mild microcytic, hyperchromic, non responsive anemia, (RBCs normal, but hematocrit and hemoglobin were low). This could have been due to rough handling of the blood. Joint fluid analysis - Mucin clot is normal, total protein is within normal range, and there is a mild increase in WBCs. Culture and sensitivity - Klebsiella pneumoniae was found. This organism is a common contaminant of joint taps, but may also be a cause of septic arthritis. Radiographs - appeared normal
