Hypothesis 2 Infection- Sneezing episodes that may indicate systemic bacterial, fungal infection. They may not be caused by allergies. The organisms may have invaded the stifle joint, thereby causing inflammation and pain. The left leg stifle and the spinal joints at the base of the tail are also painful leading to the possibility of systemic infection. When infection is introduced to the joint, inflammatory cells are brought into the joint as well. These release cytokines and bradykinins that lead to joint inflammation and pain.
