Piaget's Concrete Operational Stage

Piaget's concrete operational stage is from about seven years to about eleven years of age.  During this stage, children can apply mental operations to concrete problems and events, but have problems with abstract thinking.  By this stage children are able to handle conservation tasks with concrete objects, hierarchical classification.  They can reverse concrete actions, and do not show centration.
