Visual Acuity Newborn children see blurred images because of their poor visual acuity which is estimated at 20/660. Part of the problem is that the eye muscles that control visual accommodation (adjustment of the curvature of the lens) are still developing. Their visual acuity gradually improves over time to about 20/100 by six months and approaches 20/20 at around age two.
