Two trade organizations appear in French Louisiana in 1726. They consisted of 29 indentured servants, 56 blacks, 4 Indian slaves, and approximately 40 colonists and they established themselves around Fort Rosalie to do trade in food and skins with the Natchez for gunpowder, guns, cloth, and alcohol.1 1 Ibid, 14.
