During the last 50 years, Canada's population has more than doubled. Because of this, Canada is depending more on the environment for their resources and energy and because of this more and more waste is being let into the environment. The Canadian people take care in keeping their environment clean. They pick up after themselves. It is extremely large and has one of the largest borders with another country in the world. Canada has 1.6 percent more total area than the United States. Canada is north of the United States. Canada is the second largest country in the world. It has very many interesting geographical features. One of these features is mountains. Canada is very mountainous. Many of the mountains in Canada are in the Western Cordillera or the Ellesmere Island region. Many of these mountains are much higher than 14,000 feet. This includes the Rocky Mountains and other mountains such as Mount Columbia, North Twin, and Mount Alberta. Another geographical feature is that Canada has many huge lakes, rivers and bays. Canada has an extremely large number of lakes. The major lakes are estimated to be larger than three square kilometers by the atlas of Canada. There is no official estimate of the number of smaller lakes. If you look at a map of Canada, you will see that much of it is occupied by vast water. Hudson Bay is an enormous bay that takes up about 1/8 of Canada. There are many other big bodies of water such as Great Bear Lake and Lake Ontario. Also, Canada has many forests. It has great forests such as Forester’s Point, Sherwood Forest, and Manitoba Forest.
